Woman Dies, 6 Others Hurt As Earth Chunk Falls on Them in Sircilla District.

A woman on Tuesday was killed and six others injured when a huge chunk of earth caved in on them while they were engaged in de-siltation of a village tank at Venkatraopet of Konaraopet mandal in Rajanna Sircilla district. Karimnagar: A woman on Tuesday was killed and six others injured when a huge chunk of earth caved in on them while they were engaged in de-siltation of a village tank at Venkatraopet of Konaraopet mandal in Rajanna Sircilla district. They were carrying out the work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
Marupaka Rajavva, 45, died on the spot while six others identified as Karnala Lahari, Pallam Devavva, Karnala Shyamala, Yedla Ramavva, Vadhnala Amrutha and Sandhu Chandraiah, sustained injuries.
The injured were shifted to the local area hospital at Sircilla. The police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for postmortem and started an investigation after registering the case.
