Physically Challenged Woman Repeatedly Raped and Impregnated in Krishna District

VIJAYAWADA: A 26-year-old physically challenged woman was repeatedly raped and impregnated by unidentified youths at Davuluru village in Kankipadu of Krishna district.
According to the Kankipadu police, the victim, suffering from stomach pain for the last two weeks, was taken to Vijayawada government hospital on Monday night by her mother, where the doctors after performing medical tests confirmed that she was pregnant.
Based on a complaint given by the victim’s mother, the Kankipadu police booked a case under section 376 (D) of the IPC and launched a probe into the case.
“The preliminary investigation by the police points out that the accused repeatedly raped the victim and impregnated her. The complainant named three men suspecting their role behind the act and a probe is underway to identify the accused,” Kankipadu SI D Sandeep told Deccan Chronicle.
