Nandyal Police Book 94 For Public Drinking

Visible policing is being carried out daily across the district to curb road accidents- Superintendent of police Adhiraj Singh Rana

KURNOOL: As part of intensified policing, Nandyal district police have registered cases against 94 people for consuming alcohol in public over the past 24 hours. Additionally, 95 quarter bottles of illicit liquor were seized during the operation. Superintendent of police Adhiraj Singh Rana said that visible policing is being carried out daily across the district to curb road accidents, prevent illegal trafficking of ganja, sand, and other substances, and maintain law and order.


During traffic enforcement drives, 328 people were found violating the Motor Vehicle Act, resulting in fines totalling `2,46,380. Another `40,170 was collected in fines from 113 persons for various violations. In Velugodu police station limits, a person was arrested for illegally transporting PDS rice meant for public distribution. A Bolero vehicle and 12 bags of rice, each weighing 25 kg, were seized. In a crackdown on Matka gambling, which officials say is ruining lives, one person was arrested and `2,600 in cash was seized.
