SRINAGAR: The counter-terrorism grid in Jammu and Kashmir is being strengthened further as part of a multi-faceted approach to effectively combat terrorism and violence.
Stating this, J&K’s Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat said on Friday that the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is providing “full support and help” to the J&K police to emerge as a force to reckon with, particularly in its role in countering terrorism and maintaining law and order.
“We appreciate the consistent backing from the Centre, which has helped us strengthen our operations,” he said while speaking at a passing-out parade here. He added, “J&K police is indeed recognized as one of the best police forces in the country. I see discipline and resolve in you and wish you all the best for your future.”
The ceremony marked the formal induction of the recruits into active service, “as the force continues to modernize and prepare for emerging threats, including cybercrime and subversive activity”.
The DGP said that efforts are also on to tackle cyber criminals in J&K. “Apart from actively upgrading its counter-militancy mechanism, the J&K police are launching focused efforts to address cybercrime challenges in the region,” he said.
He emphasized the department’s “unwavering commitment” to the families of fallen personnel and said, “Our martyrs are our pride, and J&K police will always stand beside their families.”
