Vidhi Kalpeshbhai Meghani, 22, from Borsad in Anand district, Gujarat, was killed during a knife attack in Niagara region, Canada.
According to Meghani's father, she was stabbed by a drug dealer when she refused to pay him money. He requested the Canadian government to send back his daughter's body to India.

Canadian police registered a case and launched an investigation. Reportedly, the attack took place when she was stepping out of her residence. She was attacked by a man armed with a sharp-edged weapon in a public area. Later, he fled the scene.
Onlookers who witnessed the attack rushed to her help and shifted her to a nearby hospital but doctors declared her brought dead. The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, police began a search operation and detained a suspect in connection with the case.
