Hyderabad: Forensic report on the blood samples collected from the seven women who were admitted to O Moujiya Ashram at Keesara, will be crucial in the case against the ashram management where a probe is being carried out to check if the admitted women were subjected to drug abuse, said Rachakonda police.
Following a complaint from one P. Manga Devi that her daughter Chandana, an aeronautical engineering student, was illegally detained at the O Moujiya Ashram, the Keesara police tried to search the Ashram and rescue Chandana. But the police was stopped by Nagachary alias Jai Maha Vibhu Sri, a self-claimed godman and other ashram employees on Sunday.
On Sunday, Manga Devi had been to Jawaharnagar to meet her daughter Chandana at the ashram in Vompuguda, but she said she was not allowed to meet her. She then lodged a complaint with the Jawaharnagar police alleging illegal confinement of her daughter. She also expressed suspicion that the ashram authorities were providing drugs to the girls admitted there to gain spiritual knowledge, and also alleged sexual harassment.
Further, the Jawaharnagar police intimated Keesara police that as Chandana had been kept in the ashram branch in Godumakunta, the Keesara police was asked to search the ashram and rescue Chandana. But the police was not allowed inside and the girls were also reluctant to meet their parents.
Following this, the police booked a case against the ashram members for obstructing them from delivering their duties. The police has collected the blood samples of inmates and sent them to the forensic science laboratory for analysis.
