HYDERABAD: Assailants who brutally murdered 24-year-old body builder Balram Rahul Singh at the parking lot in the basement of Celebrity Fitness Studio in Hyderguda, Rajendra Nagar, were planning to eliminate him for a long time.
It happened Tuesday evening when Rahul was working out in the gym. The assailants, who posed as zomato delivery boys, were armed with daggers and waited for him at the parking lot in the basement.
When they did not find his car, they decided to postpone their plan. At that moment, 6.25 pm, Rahul came out of the elevator chatting on Instagram with his girlfriend Feroza, police sources said. He messaged that he was on his way to meet her in 15 minutes, police said.
Soon after spotting him, two assailants held him tight while one of them blinded him with pepper spray and red chilli powder. They stabbed him on his chest, lower abdomen and rear side of his neck when he was trying to escape, police sources disclosed. The watchman Yadgiri who tried to stop them was also attacked. He suffered minor stab injuries.
