KOZHIKODE: Kozhikode Rural SP K.G. Simon on Friday suspended G.S. Anil, a sub inspector of Armed Reserve Police, for alleged rape of a woman. Anil was arrested by the Payyoli police on a complaint lodged by a woman, residing in the same area, following the departmental action pending inquiry.
According to the complaint, Anil was acquainted with the woman who had come to the Payyoli station two years ago. Taking advantage of the friendship, Anil took the woman to several places and subsequently raped her. The accused has been charged with rape, kidnapping, extortion, and physical abuse.
The woman who lives separately from her husband has a five-year-old son. According to the complaint, the woman has been threatened and sexually abused since September 2017.
The woman also complained that Anil allegedly tried to snatch her mobile phone and threatened to kill her son when she objected.
Meanwhile, SI's relatives have also been booked for allegedly threatening the complainant on the other day. Anil's second wife, first wife's daughter and son-in-law had allegedly threatened her in hospital,
