Telangana: Cops' attack' on trucks anger drivers

The police rushed to the spot and broke the glasses and deflated the tyres without giving any hint to the drivers.

Bhadrachalam: The over-reaction of cops at Sarapaka on Wednesday was condemned by one and all. The cops broke head-lights and windshields of 12 lorries parked on the road side near ITC paper mill at Sarapaka in Burgumpahad mandal.

They deflated the air from the tyres of 15 vehicles. The lorries, which were carrying subabul, a raw material to the ITC paper factory, were parked on the road side due to a lack of space inside the ITC Yard.

The police rushed to the spot and broke the glasses and deflated the tyres without giving any hint to the drivers. The lorry drivers, shocked by the police action, staged dharna at Sarapaka centre. N. Appa Rao, a lorry driver. said that they are unable to drive the vehicles without glasses. There is no mechanic sheds near to fix the glasses.
