BENGALURU: A smitten, err… bitten, youth allegedly sank his teeth into the cheeks of a woman in his neighbourhood in HAL police limits last Thursday.
The 23-year-old, Punith, left a bloody trail and the police caught up with him at Sirsi on Tuesday. The police said that Punith, who worked in a hotel in Doddanekkundi, had taken a house on rent in a residential building in Doddanekkundi.
On Thursday afternoon, the woman, who is 36 years old and hails from Darjeeling, was sleeping in her house in the same building. As the woman, who was waiting for her sister, had not locked the door, the accused allegedly snuck into the house. When the woman objected, he allegedly picked up a fight with her. When she resisted, he allegedly bit her face and had escaped when she raised an alarm.
Following a complaint by the woman, the police launched a manhunt to nab the accused. Based on a credible information, he was caught in Sirsi on Tuesday, the police said.
