Hyderabad: The Nigerian gang which was held for drug and human trafficking by police a week ago was formally arrested on Sunday.
It was found that the gang’s clients came from Rajendranagar and Sainikpuri. However, the police does not have any clues about kingpin Gabriel yet. Meanwhile, the police is also grilling them about the parties to whom they had supplied amphetamine pink and blue tablets.
The suspects, including five Nigerian nationals, two students from Nizam College and a woman from Vijayawada, were taken into custody on Saturday. Police said the Nigerians were not cooperating. “They claim they were acting as per the instructions of Gabriel who gave them codes to identify clients,” a source said.
Police said call records was yielding results and they are tracking the other peddler. However, the phone which is suspected to be hidden by one of the accused, Cosmas, was not found, and cops are trying to locate it.
Last Monday police arrested a Vijayawada woman and her Nigerian lover along with his four friends for drug and human trafficking and seized a huge quantity of drugs from them.
