Hyderabad: The cyber crime police arrested Eshwar Singh alias Akhi Singh, 27, of Mallepally for posting fake news videos on Facebook and spreading rumors about burglars and kidnapping gangs through social media.
The arrest was made following a suo motu case registered at the cyber crime police station after it was found that the fake video was being posted from the profile of Akhi Singh.
“The video contained taglines such as Kids Kidnappers alias Afzal Sagar (Mallepally Division). The posts created panic and the rumors induced other persons to commit an offence which is against the public tranquility,” said CCS DCP, Avinash Mohanty.
