Malkajgiri: School being probed for selling books

The school runs classes from LKG to Class X.

Hyderabad: The officials of Narayana High School in Malkajgiri have been suspended and the management is facing an investigation for flouting the Government Order No.36 that prohibits schools from selling school bags, books and study materials in their premises.

The education department took the action after it received complaints about the school authorities insisting students to buy the stationery from them and charging exorbitant prices for them.

The Ranga Reddy DEO Satyanarayana said, “When I visited the school, I saw a large number of schoolbags and books in the school premises. It is very difficult for us to visit each school in Telangana and keep a check on such activities, which is why complaints like this are important. Parents should not fall for such money making gimmick of schools and instead, should complain to the DEO of the school education department. We will take necessary action.”
