Naresh murder case: Attacks just don't stop
Hyderabad: A few hours before the fact finding committee probing the brutal honour killing of Amboji Naresh and the alleged suicide of his wife Swathi visited Naresh’s village, a person belonging to Swathi’s community was assaulted and abused by an aide of Swathi’s father Srinivas Reddy.
The culprit, Venkat Reddy, a farmer, assaulted N. Narender Reddy, who had helped Naresh’s family, after Naresh was murdered. But no complaint was filed regarding the assault.
Meanwhile, after visiting the villages of Naresh and Swathi, the committee which included 25 people’s organisations, concluded that Srinivas Reddy who had killed Naresh, could also have killed Swathi and painted it as a suicide.
They demanded punishment for all the suspects involved in the murder and action against the police personnel who were lenient in investigating the missing case of Naresh and allegedly helped Srinivas Reddy in executing his plan to murder Naresh.
They claimed that Srinivas Reddy could have killed Swathi fearing that she would reveal the truth if produced before the High Court on May 18.
Speaking to the committee, Naresh’s father Venkataiah said that though Mumbai police approved Naresh and Swathi’s marriage, Atmakur police summoned them with malafide intention. He said that they should be made answerable for that.
He stated that believing the promises of Srinivas Reddy, Swathi and Naresh came to Bhongir from Mumbai on May 2. After that Swathi was taken to her home and Naresh was abducted and killed the same day. “We complained about the same to Ramannapet inspector but there was no action,” Venkataiah alleged.
He demanded action against the Bhongir inspector and Atmakur SI and other police personnel who neglected investigating the case and helped Srinivas Reddy to commit murder.
