SIT report on land scam an eyewash: YSRC
Visakhapatnam: A day after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) which was formed to probe alleged land scam and tampering of government land records in Visakhapatnam district submitted its final re-port, YSR Congress district president Gudivada Amarnath on Tuesday termed the probe as an eyewash saying nothing has come out of it.
Even as the final outcome is yet to be made public, it was learnt that the SIT has not mentioned any of the leaders from the TD who were allegedly involved, said Mr Amarnath.
The SIT, which started the inquiry in June, 2017, on Monday handed over the final report to city police commissioner T. Yoganand, who is coordinating SIT and the government.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, the party district president said the main issues like Daspalla Hill land scam, Med Tech City land scam and land pooling issue were not taken up by the SIT, as desired.
The probe took up abo-ut 2,875 petitions thro-ugh various platforms and filtered 333 for inqu-iry. This apart, about 11 complaints made by political leaders and 68 NOC land cases were also taken up by the SIT.
“We have been deman-ding a CBI inquiry but the state government seems eager to cover up the scam. Moreover, we apprehend that the SIT report may be used against some of its own (TD) disgruntled leaders,” said Mr Amarnath.
The report should be made public at the earliest and ask CBI to inquire into the scam in detail, he demanded.
