Bengaluru: Cricket coach held for harassing 13-year-old boy

Bengaluru: Yelahanka police have arrested a cricket coach on charges of sexually harassing a 13-year-old boy who trains at his academy in Yelahanka. The accused has been identified as Naseer, who runs Ace Cricket Academy, and a resident of Vidyaranyapura. According to police, the incident took place on Saturday evening around 6.30 pm at the GKVK campus. The accused took the victim in his Maruti Omni car from his academy for a match at a ground in the university. Police said while returning to the academy after the match, he stopped his car at an isolated place and allegedly started touching him inappropriately.
He then forced the boy to touch his private parts. The incident came to light when the boy later narrated the incident to his parents. They approached Yalahanka police on Sunday and lodged a complaint, following which the accused was arrested on Monday and produced before the court. The parents also told the police that the coach had won the confidence of their son by promising him to prepare him for an IPL league. Naseer has been booked under POCSO Act.
