Hyderabad: Unidentified men attacked a man with a sharp weapon and murdered him in BN Reddy Meerpet during the early hours of Thursday.
The police are suspecting that an extramarital affair might have lead to the murder.
“The deceased was identified as Srinivas Goud, a native of Nagarkurnool, who moved to the city two to three months back,” said Vanasthalipuram ACP, C. Gandhi Narayana.
“The reason for Mr Goud to move to the city was an illicit affair he had with a woman in Nagarkurnool.
He was threatened there and moved here as he was scared.
“On Wednesday night, while he was returning home from a relative’s place, a Tata Indica car hit him from the rear, causing him to fall down,” said the official.
“He was then chased and hacked to death by the unidentified men,” the official added.
The officials are verifying the details and the CLUES team has collected evidence.
Based on a complaint, a case was booked under Section 302 (murder) of IPC and an investigation was started.
