Hyderabad: Kids harassed by pastor rescued
Vijayawada: Two children, aged six and four, were rescued from a Christian priest, identified as K. Wilson, as he had allegedly beaten them up.
Sources said Wilson had brought the siblings, Raj, 6, and Mary, 4, from their parents in Vizianagaram in north coastal Andhra to stay with him. He told the parents, who are daily wage workers, that he would look after their education.
On Wednesday, Wilson’s neighbours noticed that the children had bruises caused by beating. They informed Childline officials on the hotline 1098.
Childline officials rushed to Wilson’s house in YSR Colony and rescued the children and produced them before Child Welfare Committee (CWC). They were sent to the state home.
The CWC has informed their parents and summoned them on Thursday. The bruises appeared to be about a week old, and were healing.
