Bengaluru: Four held for dealing in double-headed' snake
BENGALURU: Two people who were selling a double headed snake, and two others who were buying it were arrested by the Chikkajala police on Tuesday morning.
The accused have been identified as Srinivas, 38, from Chittoor, Hemanth, 38, a resident of Banashankari, Alexander, 46 and Mahesh P., 30, from Hoskote.
Srinivas and Hemanth caught a two-headed snake in Chittoor forest and smuggled it to Bengaluru. They tried to sell it for a huge amount of money as it is believed that the snake brings good luck.
Srinivas and Hemanth, who were carrying the snake in their luggage, were waiting near Sadahalli Gate, when Alexander and Mahesh came to the spot and negotiated a deal. All of them got into a car, when the police surrounded them and arrested them.
The Chikkajala police have registered a case and have seized the snake and the car. The police said that the snake will be sent to the Bannerghatta National Park.
