Andhra Pradesh: College student commits suicide
Anantapur: A junior intermediate student committed suicide by hanging at her hostel room in CV Raman Junior college near Rudrampeta on outskirts of the City on Wednesday. Sources said K. Shravani, 16, of Venkatapuram village in Ramagiri mandal in the district, was studying junior intermediate in MPC group at the college. On Wednesday morning she was found hanging from the ceiling at her hostel room after she went back to the room during study hours at around 7.30 AM.
When the girl did not return to the classroom for study hours for more than half an hour, her roommates in the hostel and college staff went to the hostel room which they found was locked. On opening the door, Shravani was found hanging fro the ceiling. The inmates alerted the hostel warden and the college management about the suicide of the student.
The college management informed the fourth town police and her parents. The college management told the police that the student committed suicide due to severe headache. Shravani's friends said that the girl had been suffering from severe head ache for the past few months. Her sister would come to the college and take her to hospital for regular treatment. They suspected unbearable headache was the reason behind the suicide.
The girl's father Muthyalapp and mother Lakshmi Devi broke into tears and accused the college management for the suicide of their daughter. Fourth town police tried to convinced the parents and relatives to shift the body for post mortem. Student organisations staged protest against the college management demanding to cancel recognition.
