Telangana: Man hacks wife, stabs her family
Hyderabad: Family disputes led to a man hacking his wife to death in Begumpet on Tuesday. The incident took place near the Begum-pet police station when the victim, B. Kavitha, 25, her father Satyanarayana, brother Pavan and his wife were returning from the police station after a counselling session. After coming out of the police station, Kavitha and her family stopped an autorickshaw to go home. While Kavitha was boarding the vehicle, her husband B. Eswar attacked her with a knife. He also attacked Mr Satyanarayana and Mr Pavan before fleeing from the spot.
DCP North Zone B. Sumathi said Kavitha and Eshwar had been married for about nine years ago and had three daughters. On November 5, Kavita had gone missing from home after a fight with Eswar. Her mother-in-law Chandramma had lodged a complaint with the Begumpet police. Police traced her to her maternal home in Miyapur. Mr Satyanara-yana was asked to persuade her to return to her in-laws’ house.
During counselling on Tuesday, Kavitha told the police that she had left the house as her husband had abandoned her about three years ago. She wanted to put pressure on her husband, who was living with another woman. “We are verifying whether his mother is also involved in this. Mr Satyanarayana and Mr Pavan, who were severely injured in the attack, are in a critical condition,” Ms Sumathi said.
Eswar is said to have surrendered before the police after the incident. His arrest could not be confirmed.
