Kidnapping racket: Three more held by Mysuru police
Mysuru: The Mysuru district police have arrested three more people on Tuesday for their involvement in a child trafficking racket, taking the total of those arrested to 11. The three arrested have been identified as Shankar, Ashok and Ravi, all reportedly hardcore criminals accused of extortion and other crimes. Three more are yet to be arrested, said Ravi D. Chennanavar, Mysuru SP.
The gang kidnapped children and sold them to issueless couples and so far 16 children have been rescued and two are yet to be traced. One of them belongs to a Nanjangud based couple, while the parents of two more children are being traced. For the rest, DNA tests are being done to trace their biological parents, he said.
These children were sold to couples in Mysuru, Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Madikeri and Kerala. The main accused Mohan, Srimathi, Anusha and Renuka were staff nurses in Arvinda hospital, Narsimha hospital and KR Hospital in Mysuru.
