Mystery murder in Vizianagaram solved

Vizianagaram: Vizianagaram police have solved the mystery behind the murder of 19-year-old student T. Naveen, whose body had been found dead near a railway track in Dwarapudi locality under One-Town police station limits on Tuesday.

Police have arrested Naveen’s friend and neighbour Bodduru Brahmaji alias Balu (25).

Vizianagaram DSP T. Trinadh said Naveen had left home with firecrackers on Monday, the day of Diwali, but did not return home. Subsequently, Naveen’s friend Balu informed a few people that Naveen had been hit by a train while walking near the railway tracks.

Suspicions arose when Balu disappeared after Naveen’s body with various injuries had been found. On interrogation, Balu disclosed to police that Naveen had been harassing his girlfriend by calling her frequently and sending messages through social media. Despite Balu repeatedly warning him, Naveen continued sending messages and making calls to her.

Fed up with Naveen’s behaviour, Balu decided to eliminate him. On Diwali day, they both consumed liquor. They later went to Dwarapudi locality and were walking along the railway track, when Balu attacked Naveen with a wooden log killing him instantly, police said.
