Bengaluru: A 21-year-old security guard ordered a knife from Amazon and stabbed his roommate to death over alleged harassment on Lavelle Road in Cubbon Park police limits on Monday afternoon.
The deceased, Dilip Pradeep, 21, was a resident of KGF in Kolar district. The accused, Bijoy Biswas, from Kalikapur village near Agartala in Tripura, was arrested from the crime scene.
According to the police, Dilip worked as a housekeeping employee with Cinerama Pvt Ltd (Cinebels) on 4th Cross, Lavelle Road. The accused, Bijoy, was working as a security guard with Mac Securities, a private security agency, which was deployed at Cinebels three months ago. For the last three months, the two were sharing a room on the third floor of their office.
The police said that Dilip was allegedly harassing Bijoy which prompted him to kill him. Dilip had allegedly hidden Bijoy’s shoes and even poured water on his clothes intentionally. Last week, Bijoy brought the matter to the notice of a store manager, who warned them and asked them not to fight over petty issues.
Bijoy, who was angry with Dilip and had decided to kill him, ordered the knife from Amazon, using his friend’s mobile. The knife was delivered two days ago and around 1.45 pm on Monday during lunch break, Bijoy stabbed Dilip to death on the office premises.
The Cubbon Park police rushed to the spot and arrested him immediately from the crime scene.
