Cops collect evidence against Nama Nageswara Rao

Meanwhile, Nageswara Rao has filed a counter complaint, stating that the woman was blackmailing him.

Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police is relying on technical evidence to establsih the case against former MP Nama Nageswara Rao against whom a woman lodged a complaint stating that he tried to make her private pictures public.

“We have registered a case based on the audio recordings submitted by the victim. We had sent the audio clips to the forensic laboratory,” said A. Venkateshwara Rao, DCP, west.

The police is collecting the call data record (CDR) of persons who are directly or indirectly involved in the case. After the CDR analysis, the police will get a clear picture of the case.

On Saturday, the Jubilee Hills police registered a case against Nama Nageswara Rao. The complainant alleged that the Telugu Desam leader, who is also an industrialist, threatened her for questioning his affair with a former Karnataka legislator.

A case under Sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code was booked against the former MP and his brother Seetaiah.

Meanwhile, Nages-wara Rao has filed a counter complaint, stating that the woman was blackmailing him.
