Hyderabad: A 26-year-old man kidnapped a tribal woman from Salpabanda thanda in Dharpally mandal and allegedly raped her.
According to sources, Nagesh of Dubbak village in the same mandal kidnapped the 22-year-old tribal woman on Saturday evening in a car, while the victim was grazing cattle on the outskirts of the village.
He took the victim to an isolated area in Sarangapur village where he raped her.
The father of the victim lodged complaint with the police stating that unidentified persons kidnapped his daughter.
Police teams conducted vehicle checking on Saturday night across the district but were not able to trace the victim.
Following the CCTV footage en route, the police identified the accused.
Meanwhile, the victim called her father on phone on Sunday saying that she was at the Nizamabad bus stand. With the help of the police, the family members reached the victim and sent her for medical examination at the Government General Hospital.
Dharpally police took the accused into custody and registered a case on the charges of kidnap and rape.
