Hyderabad: 3 Teens Booked For Harassing 'Telugu Speaking Youngster'

Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police booked three teenagers for allegedly harassing a ‘Telugu speaking youngster’ belonging to a different community, as he was found with a girl belonging to their community.

They are charged with sections 341, 153A, 290, 505(2), 506. The incident came to light when a video of the group harassing the boy and his friend went viral on social media platforms.

Based on the video, Jubilee Hills police registered a suo-moto case and traced the teenagers. The teens were all found to be minors and college dropouts. Police said the incident happened last Saturday.

The trio, belonging to Chandrayangutta in the city, were on a long ride. When they were on Road no 45 of Jubilee Hills, a youngster and his friend, riding a bike in the same route, stopped by the trio and asked them for directions towards Golconda.

The trio, from his way of speaking, identified that he and the girl belonged to different communities and confronted him and the girl on the main road. They abused them and threatened them, after which the youngster and the girl, who are yet to be identified fled from the place.

Meanwhile, one of the teenagers, who recorded the act on his mobile phone, circulated it on social media platforms and it has since gone viral. Based on the video, police traced the boys.

SHO Jubilee Hills P Ravindra Prasad said notices have been served to the boys and also to the father of one of them, for allowing them to use his scooter. A charge sheet will be filed in the court after completing the investigation, he said.
