Hyderabad: A businessman consumed pesticide and died while undergoing treatment late on Tuesday night.
The victim was identified as G. Sita Ram, a 55-year-old and is survived by his wife, Vijaya and daughter.
According to the police, he acted as a mediator in a deal between Rajesh and Dronam Raju. Rajesh was in search of a job and gave Rs 13 lakh to Raju hoping to get a job through Sitaram.
However, Raju didn’t fulfil the deal. When Rajesh pressurised Ram to provide a job or return the money, he consumed pesticide and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. He died while undergoing treatment.
Based on a complaint by the victim’s brother Sudhakar, the police have booked a case under Section 306 of IPC and an investigation is underway.
