Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation staffer dies in accident
Hyderabad: A 36-year-old employee of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was mowed down by a speeding lorry at Kattedan in Mailardevpally on Wednesday morning. The victim, Onkur Ramesh, was on his bike to clear a drain at Ganesh Nagar in Mailardevpally.
Ramesh, who works in the GHMC — Rajendranagar circle went to duty at about 7 am. He cleared a clogged drain and was proceeding towards Ganesh Nagar as his superior K. Krishna Goud’s instructions.
When Ramesh’s bike reached the main road opposite Swapna theatre, a speeding lorry rammed him from the rear and he came under the rear tyres of the lorry and was crushed to death.
Mailardevpally inspector M. Jagadeshwar said “Ramesh fell on the road and was run over by the lorry. The rear tyres ran over his chest and he died on the spot. The locals informed his elder brother O. Darshan, who in turn lodged a complaint.”
A case has been registered against the lorry driver is registered under section 304 A of IPC for the investigation.”
