Hyderabad: Cyberabad cyber crime police arrested a former employee of Heart Cup Café in Jubilee Hills for siphoning off funds from the bank accounts of nine customers through skimming. All the victims are techies, police said. The suspect, Sachin Kumar, 26, hails from Uttar Pradesh. Two others who were also involved are absconding.
Police said Sachin started working at Heart Cup Café shop in Jubilee Hills three months ago. He had earlier worked in pubs in Goa.
While collecting payments from customers who pay through credit and debit cards he stole their PINs using a skimmer and shared details with Kamal, his aide. Later, Kamal made duplicate cards and sent them to Sachin.
Another former employee of the cafe, Farooq from Odisha, is also involved in the theft, police said. They stole the PINs of nine customers who visited the cafe and using them withdrew money from ATM booths in Shantinagar, Himayatnagar and Raj Bhavan Road.
