Hyderabad: A 37-year-old painter from Neredmet was convicted on Saturday for killing his mother for property. The court sentenced S. Satyanarayana to seven years of rigorous imprisonment.
Survi Satyanarayana, 37, from Bhagath Singh Nagar, had attacked his mother with a knife in November 2016 after getting drunk demanding that her property should be transferred to his name. Lakshmamma, 80, who suffered serious injuries died after a couple of days.
Based on a complaint from his wife Jayamma, a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was registered in Neredmet police station. The XVI Additional District and Sessions Judge of RR district T. Venkateshwara Reddy convicted Satyanarayana.
