Hyderabad: Unable to bear the harassment by her husband and in-laws a newly married housewife committed suicide in Miyapur.
Police said Ippakunta Gautami, 28, married Veerender Keerthi Babu in March 2017. Her family said that the couple was happy for around two weeks after marriage. After that her husband Veerender and mother-in-law Janapriya started harassing her.
Unable to bear the torture she came to her parents’ home on Thursday midnight. Her parents spoke to her husband but he threatened to divorce Gautami.
On Friday night while her family had gone out she hanged herself.
Based on a complaint from her father a case of abetment to suicide was registered. Police launched a hunt to nab her husband and his mother- in-law.
