Vijayawada: Vijayawada city police arrested rowdy-sheeter Katta Venugopala Krishna alias Khal Nayak, along 8 others, on Saturday in connection to the murder of a rickshaw-puller, at YSR colony and Eluru railway station.
The rowdy-sheeters created panic among the onlookers when they attacked a rickshaw-puller at Rajarajes-waripet last Thursday.
According to Ajitsingh nagar police K. Kali and K. Somulu, sons of Krishna, after consuming alcohol in a bar had a heated argument with Grandasiri Yesu and G. Sai, sons of Grandisiri Venkateswarlu, 55, a rickshaw-puller. Joint commissioner B. V. Ramana Kumar presents the accused before mediapersons.
A few days ago, Venkateswarlu and his family members thrashed Nayak’s son Somulu over a small issue. They fought with each other and Kali and Somulu who were injured in the brawl escaped. After some time, they came to the same place along with their father and tried to attack Yesu and Sai with knives. In a bid to save his sons, Venkateswarlu tried to calm them down but Krishna and his sons attacked him with knives and he collapsed immediately.
