NTR District: Abducted Boy Rescued, 4 Held
VIJAYAWADA: Within hours, police rescued a boy abducted for a ransom of ₹50 lakh in NTR district on Wednesday night.
According to Bhavanipuram police, the main accused Lingam Devendra, a resident of Hyderabad, had financial issues with Gopi Krishna and conspired to kidnap Gopi’s son.
Accordingly, Devendra, along with three others, arrived at the house of Gopi Krishna and kidnapped his son while he was playing. Later, they called Gopi Krishna, informed him about the kidnap and demanded ₹50 lakh to release the boy.
Based on a complaint by Gopi Krishna, police booked a case and formed four special parties. During the search operations, they found the four culprits moving under suspicious circumstances near Tummalapalem under Gudur police station limits of Krishna district.
Police nabbed the four accused, rescued the boy and handed him over to his mother.
The accused have been identified as Devendra, V. Bujjibabu, V. Subhashini and T. Mangarani.
Vijayawada police commissioner Kanthi Rana Tata appreciated the special police parties for rescuing the boy within a few hours of the abduction.
