Hyderabad: Police officials of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) arrested a cab driver by the name of Salman for harassing an 18-year-old girl. The accused reportedly touched her inappropriately. The incident took place in Shamshabad when the girl, an employee at a sweet shop at the international airport, was returning home from work.
According to the police, the victim in need of transportation hailed a domestic cab for a lift. The accused Salman, who happens to be a domestic driver and not on board any particular cab service, asked the victim to sit in the front seat following which he reportedly touched her inappropriately while adjusting his seat belt.
Based on the complaint filed by the 18-year-old, the police analysed the CCTV footage and traced Salman. He was booked under Sections 354 (A) and (D) of the IPC and arrested on Saturday.
In two separate cases, two women who returned from Muscat and Doha respectively went missing from Shamshabad airport. Following a complaint filed by a family member, one woman was traced in Kadapa. From the CCTV footage that was recovered, it was concluded that this woman had eloped with her paramour. The police are yet to trace the other woman....
