A cabbie from Hyderabad attacked, a car stolen
Hyderabad: A cabbie from Hyderabad was attacked by an unidentified person in Suryapet district on Thursday. The suspect who pretended to be a passenger had hired the vehicle to go from Hyderabad to Rajamahendravaram. Police said Mohammed Arif, the driver of an Innova (AP 09CJ 0062) was hired by a person to go to Rajahmundry, as Arif was waiting on LB Nagar Ring Road.
After reaching Suryapet’s outskirts the suspect told Arif to stop the vehicle saying that his friends would be joining. After the vehicle was stopped, the suspect got down from the vehicle and attacked Arif. He also pulled out Arif and pounced on him. Later, he attacked Arif with a stone.
After Arif became unconscious the suspect fled with the car. The public saw Arif lying in a pool of blood and alerted the police. After first aid Arif was rushed to a hospital in Hyderabad. An attempt to murder case has been registered.
