Hyderabad: 7-year-old deaf and mute girl found dead in brick kiln
Hyderabad: The body of a seven year old deaf and mute girl was found buried in the ashes at a brick kiln at Yacharam on the city outskirts on Tuesday. Police suspect the girl, identified as Urmila Chatriya, was murdered.
According to police, Hethuram Chatriya and Mirathi Chatriya had migrated from Odisha to the city four months ago and started working at BNC Bricks Company located at Chinnatundla village under Yacharam Police station limits. The couple were residing in the accommodation provided to them in the brick kiln premises along with their three kids.
On Tuesday morning, the unit supervisor noticed the girl's body partly buried in the ashes and alerted the management. The police went to the spot, recovered the body and identified the girl as Urmila.
Clues team and a dog squad were deployed and the dog squad, after inspecting the crime scene, walked straight to the room where the Chatriya family were residing and moved around her parents.
“There is an injury on her head, which makes it clear that she was murdered. The investigation is underwa,” said ACP of Ibrahimpatnam S. Mallareddy.
Interestingly, Urmila's parents had lodged a complaint with Yacharam Police on Monday afternoon stating that she went missing from the brick kiln, and a case was also registered. Search teams were formed and an investigation was on when the body was found on Tuesday.
