Bengaluru: Techie murders wife, on the run
Bengaluru: The Mahadevapura police, investigating the murder of a 30-year-old woman at her residence in Mahadevapura on May 21, have formed a special team to nab the woman's husband who they suspect has killed his wife. The suspect, Md. Shafiullah Shadab (35), a software engineer at a reputed company in Whitefield and hailing from Bidar, is absconding since the day of the murder and is suspected to have strangulated his wife over dowry. The couple has an eight-month-old daughter. The deceased, Sana Akil, was a resident of Kammanahalli.
The couple was staying in an apartment in Chikkanna Layout near A. Narayanapura. The incident came to light after Sana's parents, who called on her phone multiple times did not receive any response, and rushed to her flat to find her dead. They informed the police and simultaneously tried to call Shadab, but his mobile phone was switched off. Sana's father in his complaint stated that Shadab was harassing their daughter and demanded Rs 15 lakh as dowry. Meanwhile, the police have intensified their manhunt to nab Shadab.
