Hyderabad: In a horrifying accident, a construction supervisor accidentally fell in a pit dug for the elevator and the standing iron rods in the pit pierced into his back, causing him grievous injury. He was operated at a private hospital and the rods were removed.
The victim was identified as Samuel (28). According to the police, Samuel hailing from Prakasam district and residing at Balanagar in the city was working as a construction supervisor with Madasani Builders. The builders had taken up the construction work of a multi-storeyed building along the stretch between Bairamalguda to Karmanghat.
On Saturday night, Samuel was supervising the work being done on the site. While walking towards the construction area, he accidentally fell in the pit dug for the lift and landed on the iron rods.
Fellow workers rushed him to the nearby Omni Hospital, where doctors performed a surgery on him. Dr Venkatesh from Omni Hospital said that the rod was removed and he was recovering now. However, he has been kept under observation for the next couple of days.
Meanwhile Saroornagar Police registered a case under 337 IPC (causing injuries) and has started investigation.
