Shock likely behind Osmania University staffer's death

He was posted at the pump house, located behind the Saraswati temple near the Arts College building on the campus.

Hyderabad: A 53-year-old employee of the water supply department at the Osmania University was found dead in a pump house on the campus on Friday.
Cops suspect K. Ravinder died due to an electric shock.

According to the Osmania University police, Ravinder, a resident of Nagole was working as an operator in the water supply department of the engineering and building division at Osmania University.

He was posted at the pump house, located behind the Saraswati temple near the Arts College building on the campus. On Friday, he came to work as usual but around 5.45am, passersby found him lying unconscious in the pump house premises and alerted officials. By the time emergency crews arrived, Ravinder was already dead.

“There are no injuries on the body. We suspect he died due to electric shock from some machinery. But we are waiting for the autopsy report to determine the exact cause of the worker’s death,” an official said. Police have registered a case of suspicious death and are investigating.
