Hyderabad: A 21-year-old final year engineering student jumped from the third floor of her building on Friday afternoon.
The deceased, who has been identified as Susmitha, took such a extreme step as her parents reportedly failed to pay the college fee.
She was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital where she died while undergoing the treatment.
According to the police, the victim was a final year student of ACE Engineering College, Ghatkesar. She had to pay tuition fee. Reportedly, she didn’t inform about it to her parents. Meanwhile, the college management called her father to remind him about the same.”
Inspector S. Venkat Reddy, Chikkadpally, said, “When the deceased’s father asked her daughter over phone about the fee, she allegedly replied that due to the financial problem at home, she didn’t inform her father about it. While the father was on his way to discuss about the fee, he got a call from his wife that their daughter has jumped from the building.” A case has been registered under Section 174 CrPC.
