Bike mows down ex-babu in Hyderabad

The biker, Mahender, was working for a biological firm in the city.

Hyderabad: A retired government employee was killed in a road accident at Aliabad village while crossing the road with his granddaughter.

The deceased, Gurram Ramdas, 55, was crossing the Lalaguda-Malakpet road at Aliabad with his 4-year-old granddaughter when a biker hit them on March 24.

The kid was injured while her grandfather was thrown five feet away and suffered serious head injuries. He was rushed to Gandhi Hospital and he died on Wednesday morning.

The biker, Mahender, was working for a biological firm in the city. “The duo had almost crossed the road when the biker hit them. He also suffered some injuries.

We gave him first aid, took him into custody and booked a case against him under Section 338 (causing serious injury by an act endangering the life or safety of others) and 337 (inflicting injuries through an act endangering the life or safety of others), but now after the death of Ramdas we have altered the case to Section 304A (causing death by negligence)” said SI P. Raghu of Shamirpet police station.
