Hyderabad: 3 members of chilli gang held
Hyderabad: Three offenders, who threw red chilli powder on a person and snatched his cash bag consisting of around Rs 90,000 in cash, were arrested by South zone task force police on Wednesday.
Identifying the accused as Ameer Khan, Md. Toufiq and Asghar Ali, the police said that the accused were inspired by crime films. Mohd Adil, working as an accountant in popular chicken centre, on Sunday collected the amount to deposit in SBI ATM on Raksapuram main road. When he was proceeding on his two-wheeler two unknown persons came on a motorcycle around 8 pm, threw the chilli powder on his eyes, due to which, he fell on the ground. In a spur of the moment, they snatched his cash bag and sped away from the spot.
“The accused kept a tab on his movements and tried to commit an offence last Sunday but did not succeed. They did it again on Sunday and made good with the booty,” said Anjani Kumar Hyderabad City Police Commissioner.
M. Adil lodged a complaint with Santsohnagar police who booked a case of robbery.
and started investigation. They checked CCTV footages from Malakpet to SBI, ATM Rakshapuram, and nabbed the culprits on Wednesday.
