Hyderabad: Hubby' kills woman, her mother and child
Hyderabad: A three-member family consisting of a woman, 30, her daughter, 4 and mother, 60, were found murdered in their flat at Chandanagar on Monday.
Residents of neighbouring flats noticed foul smell from the flat and alerted the police. Police said the bodies were in a highly decomposed condition and could have been killed three days ago.
The woman, G. Aparna Devi, was living away from her husband for the past two years along with her mother Jayalakshmi and daughter G. Karthikeya. Aparna’s husband Madhu surrendered before the police in the evening and confessed to the killing the trio.
Police said Madhu took the step over suspicion that Aparna had an affair with a third man. Aparna, hailing from Palakollu in West Godavari district, moved to the city six years ago and was working as a sales executive at a mobile store in Madhapur. She met Madhu, also an employee at the same store, and developed a relationship with him. Later, they got married and also had a child. She then took up a job at another electronic store.
Meanwhile, she came to know that Madhu was married to another woman.Aparna got the phone number of Madhu’s first wife and told her about her relationship with Madhu. This led to quarrels between him and his first wife.
On Saturday morning, he consumed alcohol and went to her flat. He killed her mother and the child by strangulating them and then waited for Aparna. When she came home for lunch, Madhu banged her head against the wall and killed her.
The apartment owner Narayan Rao noticed foul smell from the flat and alerted the police. Cops broke open the doors and found the decomposed bodies. “They could have been killed three days ago. Her husband Madhu is suspected behind the murders,” said Madhapur DCP Vishwaprasad.
Killer gave up after hearing news on TV
Madhu revealed shocking facts to the police after his surrender. Sources said he told the police that he left Aparna’s flat after killing her, her mother and their child, went straight to his house in KPHB and informed his first wife about the murders and asked her to go to her maternal home. He had been living in a hotel since then.
Madhu knew Aparna for the past six years, but recently she started going around with another man who was a common friend of both. The three had worked together in a mobile store in Madhapur. Madhu grew jealous after coming to know this.
Adding to this was the trouble Aparna triggered between him and his first wife. All these together drove him to kill her, sources said. “He wanted to surrender the same day but did not and instead checked into a hotel. He learnt of the news from the media on Monday and then surrendered,” said an investigation official.
