Bengaluru: Labourer-peddler who filed Rs 40 lakh Income tax returns arrested
Bengaluru: A construction labourer who paid Rs 40 lakh in income tax grabbed the attention of the police and after investigating, they raided his house and arrested two people. The police also seized 30 kg ganja and Rs 5 lakh cash on Monday morning in Koramangala police limits. The accused have been identified as Rachappa and Srinivas, both residents of Thalaghattapura.
The two worked as construction labourers and transported ganja using Rachappa’s car. They sold marijuana to college students in Koramangala and Rachappa had filed an income tax of Rs 40 Lakh, which attracted the attention of the police. Based on a tipoff, the police raided his house and arrested the two.
The Koramangala police have registered a case and are investigating to find out whether more people were involved in the racket.
