Riot victim gang-raped by three in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar
Muzaffarnagar: A 14-year-old girl, who was rehabilitated along with her family after the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, was allegedly gang-raped by three youths at Ambeta village in the district.
Circle officer N P Singh today said that police has registered a case under various sections of IPC including 376 (d) (rape by one or more persons constituting a group) against one Zulfam, son of former Gram Pradhan Zaheer, and two unidentified youths who are absconding.
According to a complaint lodged by the victim's brother, the girl had gone to the fields yesterday and when she was returning home, three youths picked her up and allegedly gang-raped her. The girl was later found in an unconscious state.
The victim's family members were allegedly beaten up by the accused when they protested over the incident.
The girl has been sent for medical examination. Her family was rehabilitated to Ambeta village from Baghpat district after the Muzaffarnagar riots in 2013.
