Pardhi gang in Cyberabad cop's net

The police recovered 12 tola gold and 60 tola silver from their possession.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Thursday arrested a three-member Pardhi gang which is involved in 13 cases, including two murder cases in Chevella and Shankarpally. The gang is also involved in cases in other districts in Telangana and other states.

The police recovered 12 tola gold and 60 tola silver from their possession. The police teams and sleuths from the Special Operations Team of Cyberabad stayed in a forest area in Maharashtra for over 20 days to spot the gang.

The arrested were identified as Isram, 50, Karthik Shiva Shinde, 25 and Pallu Govinda, 21, while their seven accomplices are absconding.

In March 2017, Karthik broke into a house at Parigi and looted gold jewellery, silver articles and cash. The same night, he broke into another house in the neighbouring village and looted cash and gold. Besides, the five-member gang also snatched a gold chain from a woman who was sleeping.

In June, Isram, Shakeel, Biyaz, Ambarej, Redya and Ambu, noticed a woman boarding an auto at Chevella. After she got down, they followed her, gagged her mouth and snatched her gold chain. They later set her clothes on fire which led to her death. They buried her body near a canal and fled.

“Karthik and his associates were involved in various offences in Warangal, Karimnagar and Adilabad districts in 2012 and were arrested. They were convicted in some cases,” said Sandeep Shandilya, Cyberabad commissioner.

The Pardhi gang is notorious and commits robbery even for a small booty. Isru, one of the suspects, identified himself with new names whenever he was arrested.

He was involved in three murder cases, including two in Cyberabad and one in Karnataka. Karthik, another member, was involved in a murder case in 2013 in Karimnagar district.
