Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday directed the Mahbubnagar police to submit the details of the criminal case pending against Mahbubnagar municipal commissioner B. Dev Singh, before it. Justice S.V. Bhatt was dealing with a petition by municipal councillors Katta Ravi Kishan Reddy and Kamuganti Lakshman belonging to the Congress, challenging the police for not taking any action against Mr Singh.
The petitioners alleged the minister, local MLA and collector were harbouring the commissioner who is accused No. 8 in a case registered at Ieeja police station for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 406, 409, 468, 471 and 120-B of IPC from legal punishment. They urged the court to direct the CBI to probe into the matter. The judge adjourned the case to January 18 after directing the police to place the details before it.
