Bengaluru: 2-year-old girl murdered by mother, paramour

The deceased has been identified as Annapurna. Her mother Niveditha and her paramour Satish have been arrested.

Bengaluru: A two-year-old girl was strangulated to death by her mother and her paramour in Avadadenahalli in Anekal police station limits on the city outskirts on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Annapurna. Her mother Niveditha and her paramour Satish have been arrested.

For the past one and a half years, she was allegedly having an extra-marital relationship with Satish, her relative. They had allegedly decided to get married and thus thought Annapurna would be a hindrance.

“On Wednesday, Annapurna was hospitalised as she was unwell. Taking advantage, her mother, who was attending her, kidnapped her. The girl’s father, who returned after a while, found his daughter missing and filed a police complaint,” the police said.

The police immediately swung into action and verified the CCTV footage. They found that Niveditha was walking out of the hospital carrying her daughter. The police came to know that she was with Satish near Attibele. They were arrested them within few hours and when questioned about the girl, they confessed that they had strangled her to death and had thrown the body at a bush in Avadadenahalli. Based on their information, the body was recovered and a post-mortem was conducted.

“They revealed that they had plans to marry but did not wanted Annapurna to be with them. So, they had decided to finish her off,” the police added.
