22-year-old killed in road mishap

The victim was identified as Banavath Pavan Kumar, a BTech final year student at St. Mary's college in Pochampally.

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old BTech final year student died when a speeding RTC bus rammed into his bike at Habsiguda on Tuesday morning. The victim was identified as Banavath Pavan Kumar, a BTech final year student at St. Mary’s college in Pochampally.

The accident occurred opposite the SBI office in Habsiguda main road, said the police.

“On Tuesday morning, the victim was going to his college from Habsiguda to Uppal on his bike when an RTC bus, proceeding towards the same way in a negligent manner, dashed him from behind and ran over him, killing the boy on the spot,” said a sub-inspector of Osmania University police station.

The dead body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital morgue for postmortem and based on a complaint from Pavan’s father, Chandra Naik, a case was booked under Section 304 A (death by negligence) of IPC and an investigation was started.
